Our Artsmark Goals

(what we would like to achieve by 2021)

 

  • More Performing Arts clubs (update: Three new clubs this year - Drama, Keyboards and Culture Club)
  • Opportunity to take LAMDA exams
  • Take One Picture Week becoming an annual fixture (update: first took place September 2019)
  • More Art and Design units showing progression through the school
  • More Drama as part of English and Topic lessons to help our writing and to enable us to dive deeper into books
  • More links with local art organisations, schools, artists and the community
  • More regular staff training in Drama and Art
  • Introduce Art, Music and Drama stars of the week
  • Inviting Strathmore Year 2s to a Music Morning at Wilshere-Dacre
  • Visiting local secondary schools to share arts experiences
  • More regular use of a wider variety of artistic materials (clay, sculpture, paints, textiles, mixed media) (update: Feb 2020 - art made from plastic bottle tops made for our new quad area)
  • More artistic and cultural experiences for every pupil (trips, visiting artists etc) (update: Jan 2020 - 2 artists working with Year 3, March 2020 - Y4 visiting Broadway Gallery, Letchworth)
