Curriculum

PE here at Wilshere-Dacre has been thriving over the years, thanks to Mr Horsley's passion for sport for all children. Every week, children have the opportunity to participate in two hours of high-quality PE lessons per week either with Mr Horsley or their class teacher. This has huge benefits for the children's health and wellbeing, both physically, mentally and socially.

This year there has been a shift in the structure of the curriculum. In the past, PE has been broken down termly, where the focus has been on one particular sport (invasion game) per term. Although this system works perfectly fine, we felt that skills were being forgotten throughout the academic year. Therefore, we are focusing on a particular skill and applying it to various different sports throughout each term. These sports will include:

- Football

- Rugby

- Hockey

- Basketball/Netball

During the summer term, focus will turn onto summer games such as Cricket, Tennis, Athletics and Outdoor activities.

Below is a break down of our long term curriculum plan.
