We are very proud to announce that Eco-Schools have awarded us with a Green Flag with Distinction for all the efforts we make towards sustainability at Wilshere-Dacre.
Even though the programme normally lasts a year, our Eco Council decided to embark upon the journey only in January 2022, so we knew we only had 6 months to move forwards with the application and start putting some of our plans into action.
In fact, it was the Eco-Schools journey that provided us with the ideas and templates in order to work out our next steps. Following a successful COP26 Climate Day in November 2021 and various eco Christmas projects, we needed some help in working out where to go next and Eco-Schools was the answer.
After carrying out an Environmental Review, our Eco Council evaluated the results to see what we needed to put into our Action Plan. Check these out below. Even though we have already achieved a lot of our targets, we still have lots of ideas for future projects and see our Eco-Schools journey as an ongoing one, which we hope to embed into the school and all our lives to help us make good choices every day for the planet.
